Reboot

It has been way to long since I have done anything with this blog.  Life gets in the way and that't not a bad thing.  I am in many ways, a solo player in just about every mmo I have ever played.  I hope in the near future I can change that.  Recently, I have a really good lifelong friend of mine who is interested in playing LotRO.   I feel this would be a great time to reboot this blog and start from scratch to begin from the true origins of LotRO.  I would create a new character and catalog our adventures through middle earth.   We would create a character (most likely hobbit) and explore and quest our way through the starting zones starting with The Shire.   Screenshots, areas of interest, and similarities of game and book would be added to give more substance throughout middle earth.  Who know, perhaps down the road we would do a podcast, who knows.   I am back!

Vacation

After buying my new Bree steed I traveled the land to the far south, to a place called "Florida" where I went to Univerasal Studios, Disney, Epcot oh and Daytona Beach.  Well I am back, my skins a little darker and I am ready to go forth in my journeys of Middle Earth.

Bree Steed,, indeeed!

Well I did it, and just think, it only cost me 5.5 gold to do it too!  I am happy to say that it was worth it and to be quite honest, this is only the second and repeat second steed that I have ever purchased since I started playing LotRO.  Since I am a founder and owner of the Mirkwood adventure pack, I have never had the want or need to purchase a steed.  Well I felt I earned it after becoming kindred with the Men of Bree.  I do have to say though, of all the kindred steed you can purchase, this one is quite pricey! Well, I just bit my lip and grinded the barrow tombs and collected rep items and other trophies to sell them.  Well, I am off to the North Downs!

Bye Bye Radiance... :)

Just to start off with, I have not played any of my mains since the new content release but I am glad to say, "goodbye radiance" with a swift kick in the ass out the door.  I am in total agreement with Turbine about the issues with radiance.  I have a 65 burg, 65 champ and a 60 rk on the firefoot server and because of radiance I wasn't able to join certain runs, ie Watcher, DG and so forth.  Now it is open to anyone and not based on how much "rad" you have. I believe (and I feel a lot of players also agree) that this will further increase the playability and the enjoyment of LotRO in a whole.  Turbine, you did good, lets turn the game into less of a grind fest and more about the experience of the game and its content.

One step closer!

I am now the proud owner of the title, "Master Journeyman Scholar" and I am loving it!  Also I am about 3/4 the way to being Allied with the Men of Bree, I want my Bree steed indeed!  Since I am a founder, I have a goat but I am becoming sick of my goat and I want something a bit more traditional.  If I was a dwarf the goat would make more sense but I am Mundaros of Rohan dammit!

Scholar profession

I have tried scholar on a couple other characters before but never had the patience for it.  I was always frustrated about the location and frequency of the drops.  One of my goals with Mundaros was to be more patient so I picked scholar.  As of last night I have completed Path to Learning part II scholar quest and have unlocked expert tier 3.  I am loving it!  The types of items that you can craft is amazing.  There is an item for almost every class that you can make.  Now to work on master Journeyman :)

Lord of the Rings Online - Rebirth of the World

I have been playing LotRO since Beta in early 2007.  Since then I have created several characters that have resided on the Firefoot server.  I have played all the classes except for Captain and Minstrel.   I love playing all my toons, more recently I have leveled my Champion up to 65 and I am questing in the Enedwaith area which is a great refresher after Mirkwood.

When I played the Beta in 2007 I had created a Hobbit hunter but for the life of me I don't recall his name.  Anyways, I was taken back by the scenery, the music and the general ambiance that the game in which my favorite world had been faithfully created.  I was craving that feeling of adventure and exploring and in doing so, one day I started listening to the LotRO Academy podcast http://lotroacademy.com/ and I was finding myself wanting that beginning feeling again.  I sat and thought about what all I have done in the game and what all I have not explored or have accomplished and I realized that as time went forward, my ambition's for exploring and taking in other activities that this wonderful world has to offer was diminishing.  My priority had become leveling and gear gathering.  I am changing that.  I created a new character on the Arkenstone server.  Mundaros is his name and he is a Captain.  My goals will be to explore the land areas and all they have to offer.  One being, the ruins and the story behind them all.  LotRO is more than your everyday MMO.  LotRO has something that WoW or any MMO will never touch and that is its rich history and scenery and don't get me started about the story!
